What is hair transplantation?

The transplantation of one’s own hair, or hair transplantation, involves the relocation of follicles to bald and sparse areas of the head from those donor areas (the back and side areas of the head) where they exist in large numbers. Follicles located in the donor areas don’t have androgen-sensitive receptors, and are therefore resistant to factors that cause baldness and retain their normal anatomically-physiological properties until the end of a person’s life.

This has been scientifically proven.

Follicles transplanted from donor areas continue to function in a normal manner, producing normal, healthy hair. It is specifically this phenomenon that lies at the base of hair transplantation.

At “Hairline International,” hair transplantation is an ambulatory procedure, the length of which depends on the magnitude of transplantation and lasts on average from 3-5 hours. All processes take place under local anesthesia, absolutely painlessly and without side-effects. This is done at a flexible pace suitable to the patient – he sits in a comfortable chair, can watch television, listen to music, talk on the phone, etc.

In our clinic, we use the newest non-traumatic American technologies in hair transplantation, which allows us to achieve the best results and prevents the formation of scars in the donor and recipient areas of the head, in turn significantly improving the aesthetic appearance after transplantation. It should be noted that until recently, and even today, in many clinics hair transplantation is done by the so-called “large graft” method (graft-transplantant, consisting of follicular conjunctions). Large sections of skin measuring 4 mm or greater are taken from the back areas of the head, which are then implanted into the bald areas of the head. Hair transplanted to new areas by this method grows in a bush-like pattern (a “toothbrush” effect, similar to doll hair).

In our clinic, after donor tissue is obtained from the back of the head, it is segmented into small transplants under powerful magnification
(less than 1 mm in diameter), into so-called monografts containing one hair follicle and micrografts, containing 2-3 follicles.

Two to three months after transplantation, true to the physiology of hair, the follicles produce new and healthy hair, which is undistinguishable from other hair on the person’s head. After six months, problems connected with alopecia are completely forgotten.

Out clinic uses a modernized method of hair transplantation which allows the acquisition of necessary mono- and micrografts from donor areas for transplantation to recipient areas without any cuts, stitches, or scars.

Hair Transplantation in Men

Hair loss causes unpleasant experiences in men. Studies have shown that the opinion about the person is influenced by his appearance. Therefore, confidence that is associated with the good appearance is important.

At first, hair loss is less noticeable, there is a small scrub that can be covered by changing the hairstyle. But when the hair loss is progressing and the sooner boldness appears, self-esteem starts to decrease.

Before we start talking about transplantation, consider what is the cause of hair loss in men.

Hair grows from hair follicle (from the bottom) and is constantly functioning for 3-6 years.

By the influence of Androgen their cycle of growth changes, respectively, gradually decreasing their quality (they become more thin and fragile) and quantity.

The modern methods of hair transplantation allow us to transplant hair with higher density and the effect is more natural.

Hair restoration in men is possible after the androgenic, scar alopecia. Based on our many years of experience, we say: The best and most sustainable results is achieved when together with the transplanted hair we take care of the already existed hair.

After hair transplantation you will see a new person in the mirror, youthful, free from any restrictions and full of self-confidence.

Hair restoration increases confidence in men and often leads to a new stage of life for them. Until now, hair transplantation has never been so efficient and available.

Hair transplantation in women

Because in 90-92% of men hair transplantation is successful, the ladies also thought about referring to this procedure in case of reducing number of hair. However, the situation is different in this case.

Hair loss in women is often a diffuse character. At this time the hair is sparse on the scalp evenly and the transplantation is not a solution. Hair reconstruction is recommended by a non-surgical method (consultation of trichologist-dermatologist, mesotherapy, plasma therapy).

During the androgenic alopecia DHT (dihydrotestosterone) is damaging donor and whole scalp area, therefore the chances of losing transplanted hair is higher.

When is it appropriate to do hair transplantation in women?

Hair transplantation is effective during androgenic alopecia of small scale, i.e when a large amount of hair is not lost and the donor zone is not damaged.

During tractive alopecia ___ Hair tightening, tight hairstyle can cause hairless spots, in these cases hair transplantation is extremely effective.

Hair transplantation is very effective for restoration of bolded parts of the scalp from trauma (thermal, thermal or chemical burns).

To fill the stratospheric scarring resulting from plastic operations on their hair.

Strip method

The Strip Method of Hair Autotransplantation is the classical method of hair transplantation. In this case, the area of the skin is removed from the skin zones containing the hair follicles, and the further processing and division of the follicular to the grafting and then into the reciprocity area.

Fue method

This method differs from the Strip method only in that it has the stage of the follicles extraction from the donor zone. The satureless method is the method during which the follicles and micro grafts are extracted without cutting the skin, using special miniature instrument, under the optic devices control.

FUE or Strip Method?

Strip Fue
It’s not necessary to shave back of the head. The strip is hidden under the hair and is not visible even after the procedure. It is necessary to shave the whole head. During 1000-1500 graft transplantation the small strip on the back of the head is shaved, which can be covered by hair too.
Short rehabilitation period, already on a second day of operation it’s possible to return to a daily life and work. Rehabilitation period lasts for about 5 to 7 days, until healing takes place and small incisions in the donor area are covered by hair.
Post operational period is not characterized by bruising and swallowing. Post operational period is not characterized by bruising and swallowing.
The duration of the surgery is around 2 to 5 hours and depends on the quantity of grafts transplanted. The duration of the surgery is about 2 to 7 hours (depending on the amount of grafts), patient can undertake breaks during the operation.

Hair in the scalp grows in small family groupings know as follicular units, which contain between one and five hairs each. It is important that the integrity of these groupings remain undisturbed during the dissection process. The production of follicular unit grafts from the donor scalp requires a two-stage process of firstly slivering the ellipse into very fine scalp sections and then dissection of the follicular units from these slivers.
Both stages of this process are accomplished by the use of the stereoscopic dissecting microscope. The use of these technically advanced microscopes has reduced transection of hair follicles to the extent that we now have a 30% increase in yield from our donor strip. The reason for this is that we are now able to directly visualize the scalp we are dissecting under high magnification, rather than simply cutting blindly through the donor strip as seen in older hair transplant techniques.
